Can you recommend a lip balm that works?

Ive been looking for a good lip balm to use, as my lips are quite dry from all this cold UK weather we have been having.

I used to use this great one that I brought from Debenhams a few years ago it came in a glass jar and was a pinky colour. It only cost £2 ish, but I lost it and cant remember the name of it!!

I tend to buy a new one every 2/3 months.

Anyway I have tried Burt Bees Pomegranate , Which to be honest I didn't like one bit, the taste of it was horrible, and it didn't condition that much at all.

Also have tried Chapstick,Nivea (which i found was too thick) Carmex and a few others.

The latest one I have brought is by Cowshed, Which smells lovely and is great to use to protect lips once they are in good condition, but I am looking for something to actually heal my lips.

If anyone has any suggestions that would be great :) thanks

Clear Beauty day cream

I love a bargain, who doesn't?

While doing my shopping at Tesco I saw this Clear Beauty Moisturising day cream (50ml) for £1.00 so I thought id give it a try.

What they say
Moisture rich Clear Beauty Day Cream has been specially formulated to be used as part of your daily beauty regime, helping to keep your skin soft and healthy looking all day long.

Does it work?
For a pound I didn't no what to expect but I am quite surprised.

It is a nice creamy texture that sinks in to the skin straight away leaving no stickiness and leaves your skin feeling moisturised and soft.

It is ideal to use under make up as it provides a good base, which doesn't cause your foundation to slide off after a few hours!

Max Factor Second Skin

Lately I have been using Maybelline Dream matte mousse,But I find that if my skin is a bit dry that this can make my skin look a bit too cakey.

I decided to pick up Max Factor Second Skin from boots which retails at around £13.99.

There are only 5 shades to choose from at the moment, which is not many at all.
I decided to get the lightest shade "Creamy Ivory" as I am quite pale.

I only brought this a few days ago, So will write a proper review once I have worn it for a little longer.

Soap & Glory The Fab Pore 15 minute Facial Peel

Since receiving the Soap and glory Plane Jane beauty collection for Christmas, which I love I have decided to try out more of their range that they have to offer.

At the moment Boots are doing a offer to save 1/3 on selected products.
So I decided to get the Soap & Glory The Fab Pore 15 minute Facial Peel, Which was £4.00 instead of £6.00.

Ive been looking for a new face mask to try for a while now so thought I would give this a go.

What they say
On the box it claims to shrink pores thanks to the PORESHRINK-R COMPLEX And is ideal for greasy, spot prone or problem skin, or for a strategic attack on a misbehaving T-Zone.

Here is what is meant to do just that:

■FOMES OFFICINALIS EXTRACT: A mushroom extract to tighten pores.

■SALICYLIC ACID: which loosens up the dead cells that contribute to pore clogging

■KAOLIN: That’s ‘cosmetic’ for clay. It sops up extra oil on your skin and smoothes your skin’s surface!

■VITAMINS E & C: Antioxidants.

Here is what the packaging looks like..

Here is what the product looks like..

It is a creamy texture with small green beads. Not so much a "peel".

On the instructions it says to use a Grape size amount and massage in circles until the green beads have all dissolved. With this mask it doesn't dry as some do but its more of a sticky texture. You can either leave it on for 5 mins for a quick refresher, or for fifteen mins for a deep-cleaning.

Does it work?
I left it on for the full 15mins. After washing it off, (I would suggest using a flannel to get it all off as it is easier) My skin did feel more refreshed and my pores did look sightly smaller. You do need to use a good moisturizer after using this as it does leave your skin feeling quite dry but I think that is due to the Kaolin (clay) that soaks up excess oil on the skin.

I have tested this three times and I can say that my skin is starting to look a lot clearer and not as oily.

For £4.00 I think that this is a good buy, and is ideal to use once a week.
